China Road and Bridge Group (H.K.) Limited (“CRBC Group”),
a limited company incorporated in Hong Kong, is a wholly-owned
subsidiary of China Road and Bridge Corporation ("CRBC")
which is the leading construction company which mainly engages
in the construction of roads and bridges in the People’s Republic
of China (“the Mainland”). CRBC Group is an assistant supervisory
committee member of the Building Industry of The Hong Kong Chinese
Enterprises Association. |
The scope of business of CRBC Group includes acting as the contractor
for construction projects, industrial and infrastructure investment,
trading, real estate development and property leasing, etc. CRBC Group
has 100 staff with Mr. Zhou Jichang as the Chairman and President
and Mr. Zhang Jianchu as the Vice Chairman. Senior management staff
includes Mr. Zhang Jianchu (Vice Chairman and Managing Director),
Mr. Shen Weiquan (Vice Managing Director), Mr. Kan Jun (Vice Managing
Director) and Mr. Sun Yaoguo (Chief Engineer) and Mr. Li Jinming (Chief Financial Controller).
CRBC Group started its business activities in Hong Kong in 1989. After
spending 10 years of strenuous efforts, CRBC Group has diversified
from its contractor business for the construction industry to include
other businesses such as industrial and infrastructure investment,
trading, real estate development and property leasing.
CRBC Group mainly engages in the contractor business and an ISO 9002
Certificate in respect thereof was awarded by the Hong Kong Quality
Assurance Agency on 30 May 1996. CRBC Group holds 5 Public Works Category
(Group C) Licenses approved by the Works Bureau of Hong Kong SAR government,
namely, Licenses for Buildings, Port Works, Roads and Drainage, Site
Formation and Water Works respectively and is one of the few Chinese
enterprises in Hong Kong that owns 5 Public Works Category (Group
C) Licences. CRBC Group has acted as contractors for 60 construction
projects with an aggregate contract values HK$10 billion and has built
a strong foundation for the contractor business of CRBC outside the
Mainland. CRBC also received awards granted by the Hong Kong SAR government
and many other renowned authorities in the Mainland including Airport
Core Programme Construction Safety Award Scheme Safety Promotion Award
- Silver Award, Airport Core Programme Construction Safety Award Scheme
Safety Record Award (Major Contracts Group ) - Silver Award, Airport
Core Programme Construction Safety Award Scheme Safety Management
Award - Silver Award, Considerate Contractors Site Award Scheme, Best
Civil Works Site - Bronze Award and the First Term of China Civil
Engineering Zhantianyou Prize.
Since 1995, CRBC Group has maintained continuous growth in the contractor
business for construction projects and achieved remarkable results
in the number of projects undertaken, the total contract value, as
well as other related aspects. CRBC Group's annual contract value
and turnover have been maintained at a level of approximately US$100
million per annum and it is recognized as the leader of the offshore
contractor business of CRBC outside the Mainland. For the period from
1995 to 2004, the aggregate contract value of CRBC Group was US$1.23558
billion whereas the aggregate turnover of completed contracts was
US$1.22098 billion.
With the good foundation of the contractor business, CRBC Group has
been successfully expanding its scope of business to real estate development
in Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai. During recent years, CRBC Group
has been endeavouring to explore every opportunity in an aggressive
manner in expanding and developing the infrastructure business. CRBC
Group has also jointly invested in and established CII Limited with
several Chinese enterprises. After operating for several years, several
infrastructure projects in the Mainland were completed and they are
now under full operations. These projects have brought considerable
returns to the shareholders and become the main source of revenue
of CRBC Group.
After operating the market for more than ten years, especially experiencing
the challenges during the financial turmoil of Hong Kong in 1997,
CRBC Group has established a solid base under keen market competitions.
CRBC Group will continue to expand its operations. In addition, CRBC
Group will continue to devote its efforts in strengthening the management
of Chinese enterprises in Hong Kong and at the same time making contributions
to the future prosperity of the economy of Hong Kong under its innovative
